It started raining sometime after midnight last night, and has not stopped, they say it is a fast moving storm and should be out of here later on this evening. I worked all day yesterday getting all of the Christmas decorations in the yard taken down and stored away in the top of the garage. I still have some strings of lights to take down but that can wait until the weather clears up. trying to get all of the decorations back into the storage space is like trying to refold the plastic raincoat that comes in a little pouch. but I always manage to do it.
I think I mentioned that the hard drive on my desk top computer had gone out and that I was using an older laptop. I was talking to a friend recently about it and he suggested that I unplug the power cord for a while and then plug it back in and try it, well the plug is behind a big heavy desk and I figured I would wait until after the first of the year and then try it, Well here several days ago we had a power failure that lasted for over an hour, well I got to thinking that that's kind of like unpluging the power cord. when I powered up everthing started working and all is well.
I wrote the above stuff several days ago and did not get to finish it so I saved it as a draft. Here it is Sunday morning and the weatherman is talking about more foul weather due in today, rain only, but when the system moves across the country it's going to produce some serious storms in the midwest.
I hope the new year is good to all of you.

Dang River, will you stop sending that bad weather east. At least the worst part of it goes north of me. We do need rain here, about a foot low by the end of last year.
ReplyDeleteAbout 5:00 this morning I woke up to go you know where, and it was raining again. The weather guy says that it will rain off and on all day and then start clearing up.
ReplyDeleteWe have received over 10 in. of rain in December which is the most rain since sometime in the 1880's. as I am writing this they are showing the closure of Interstate 5 going over the mountains toward Bakersfield.
That is OK with me. I think I will turn on the heater and make a pot of Oatmeal with Toast. It's 48 degrees here at 7:55.
