IT"S A LONG WAYS TO TULSA AND BACK

We have been gone since about the 10th of Sept. We took our time and poked along I70 headed for Denver. Did anyone ever tell you that the Rocky's are REALLY TALL and now I know why they put low gear in these MH.

We stopped for several days in Glenwood Springs, Colo and drove around looking at Aspin and all of the high rent areas.

We turned south at Denver to Publo where we turned east on hwy 50 which ends up at I35 in Kansas. This was a good wide 2 laned road that went thru every little farming town. We stopped at every yard sale sign we saw. We even stopped to watch a home coming parade with floats and band and all of the football team (8 man football).
I saw about a hundred old cars and tractors that I want to go back and get.

Stopped in Dodge City Kansas and did the tourist thing, some neat history there. lowest priced gas on the trip was $2.44 a gal here. most of the trip the gas was $2.53--$2.59 until we got back to Calif.

We came back via I-40 and spent most nights at Wal-Mart or Cracker Barrel. we spent 3 nights in Flagstaff at the KOA, that's a nice town, from there we went to Prescot where old friends moved to some years ago. we spent 3 nights there and then went to the place at the River to get it all set up for the cold season.

Had the company that I do the Auto Research projects for called and wants both the wife and I to work a 10 day job in Dallas,Tx starting on 10-22-10 so we will cut our Deer hunting trip a little short and head for Dallas on the 19th with the MH.

I might even get by to set on the porch with Billie Bob and sip a cup on our way home.

  1. Sounds like you had a good trip. Glad you made it back home safe and sound. I guess you are sound.

Why don't you post from the road? I guess it takes too much time out of sight seeing, etc.

  2. DD I don't have access to the internet when we travel except when we are in a campground. I had planned to take pictures and add them to my blog but when we stopped and visited with friends early in the trip, I went off and left the camera at their house. they mailed it back to me and it arrived today.

  3. Holy Cows River....sure is good to hear from you again. Sounds like you had an exciting trip....unlike Billy Bob and his boring trips. Having someone to cook for and do the dishes after a good meal makes all the difference in the world how a trip will turn out. Good ya made it back home. Good luck on your Dallas trip. Make a bundle.
