We came in from the River yesterday evening about 8:30,,,,well we left the River at 10:30 in the morning pulling a U-Haul trailer with that PT Cruizer on it, the daughter in Camarillo decided that she was ready to have the engine fixed ( valve damage due to timing belt going bad )on the way we stopped along the highway and rescued a couple who were out of gas and walking westbound toward the next town (about 10 miles)we got them gas and then took them back to their car.
When we got into Indio we stopped at our favorite Mexican food joint (no BB it's not a Beer Joint ) so at this point we had already wasted 2 hours.
We made pretty good time from there on in, we got to the daughters house about 4:30 and dropped off the trailer for them to deal with today. about 6:30 we headed out for home and as we crossed over the freeway to get on,
we saw that it was stopped E/B as far as you could see. I forgot that Oxnard has a giant Strawberry Festival this weekend and it was over at 6:00.
We just kept driving toward the coast and picked up Pacific Coast Highway and headed E/B, it was smooth sailing all the way home, we got here at 8:30.
Our trip to the River was kind of a chance to get some spring cleaning done as well as repair some boats and other equipment, we also had a couple loads of gravel delivered for the backyard, that took a couple of days to spread out with a drag and the lawn tractor.
Had lunch with our daughter Kari who is 8 1/2 months along with a baby girl,. due in about a week or so. She is doing well with her first baby, sounds like her doctor is going to induce her next Monday if she lasts that long, only seems like yesterday when I was bouncing her on my knee.
