WELL IT LOOKS LIKE SPRING HAS SPRUNG AROUND HERE

We took off recently with a camping group and went down toward San Diego to a campground near one of those Indian Casino's. Now gambling is not the reason we went there but one night several couples of us drove over there and they have a big buffet with all you can eat Lobster, and if you signed up for a club membership (free) they gave you a ticket for the buffet which normally costs $27.95. Now I need to tell you that I rarely spend that kind of money for a meal, but after I got in there I decided that they were going to loose money on me.

They had a Seafood section that must have had Shrimp done 15 diffrant ways as well as Snow Crab piled 2 feet high as well as the Lobster.

They had an Asian section with at least 15 selections including Butterflied Shrimp so when I got to the place where they were serving the Prime Rib I told the guy I would come back for him later.

After I finshed off all that Seafood I headed back for a round of Prime Rib with a baked tator and fixings.

I will not bore you with all of the gory details on the best pecan pie I have ever eaten, but I will tell you that if I ever get back in the neighborhood of the Valley View Casino in Valley Center,Ca I will gladly pay the price for another run at that Buffet.

I don't know how you all feel about this gas situation but it's getting to the point that we turn down the opportunity to go for a weekend camping trip if it's some place we have been, just because the fuel bill is in the $175.00 range. I fueled the car today at Costco and 87 octane was $4.07 a gallon, now if I have to put in 65 gallons that's $264.00+. My thinking is I better be liking these people a whole lot to be spending that kind of cash.

  1. Do you rember when gas was 28 cents per gallon? What was your income at that time? I calculated that back then the cost of a gallon of gasoline was a bigger percentage of my income then it is now. Well, what it was before I retired.
