THE FASTER I GO THE BEHINDER I GET

It's been a while since I posted on this site, I have been real busy trying to maintain the life of a retired person. I bought a 1991 Suzuki Samurai to tow behind the motorhome and we took off for Quartsite Az. After several days of driving around I checked the oil one morning and found what looked like evidence of water getting in the oil, so we parked the Suzuki. when we got home I pulled the head on the motor and sure enough it was leaking. In reading info on these little Samurai's one of the weak points is a worped head. I took the head to a mechine shop to have it checked, and he talked me into doing a complete valve job and decking the head. I got the head back last week and put it all back together but could not get it timed right, I spent a couple of days messing with it and then found out you have to time it off of the #4 cyclinder the way I put it together.

We headed off to the River to finish getting a new water well put in. The old one was starting to get sand in everything. This is a Rube Goldberg kind of well point driving machine, with a 76 year old guy that runs it. It only took a couple of hours for him to drive a 2" pipe 24 feet down. We now have water, we don't drink this water, it's just for flushing toilets and showers and dishes and ect.

The first weekend in March we went back to the River with all of the kids to do some spring cleaning and tree trimming, we pulled the Photoon boat out and stripped everything off of it so that we can replace all of the plywood deck that was going bad. It's a 1991 photoon that has set out in the weather all of these years and the floors were all coming apart. I got 5 gallons of waterproofing treatment and treated the new plywood on both sides before we put it down. The front 3ft section that get most of the water and exposure I replaced with 1"x6" Trex wood which is a plastic type of decking material that will stand up to the weather, the only problem is I had to add in 5 new sections of Alum. bracing to support the new decking material.

I got all of the plywood installed and most of the bracing done last week so we will go back on Wed of this week to finish it up. and will stay 7-8 days until it's done.
