We were up and out of here by 8:45 this morning, had a Dr. appointment at 9:15. So whene we get there we have to park on the 4th floor of a parking structure and the hike over to the Dr. office on the 6th floor of another building, have to make sure we have our $10.00 co-pay ready and the girl at the desk says " Oooo i'm sorry we tried to call you and let you know that the appointment has been changed to 1:30 this afternoon" Well your message didn't stick on our phone.
So we headed back to meet some friends for coffee and wait around for 1:30 o'clock this afternoon, well we finally got the Dr. appointment out of the way and got back home and set down to watch some tv while we go thru the mail Well how come the remote don't work are the batterys dead, no the little light comes on. well after checking around I discover that the power is out for the whole neighborhood, O I remember we got a letter from Edison last week about them needing to replace a big transformer and that the power would be off for 6-8 hours.
The wife says how am I going to watch my soups.....so I remember the little 1000w generator in the garage and gased it up and run a long extension cord from the backyard and Presto we have a tv working, ran that little sucker until the power came back on..

ReplyDeleteI remember a few times when my X would be gone and have the VCR set to tape her soaps and something like the power going off would screw up the works. I'd always get the blame and she would go ballistic. "Well You should have done something!" I didn't have a generator at the time so you are a lucky man.
