Already planning for Turkey Day

Well it looks like we are going out for Thanksgiving Dinner. My MIL decided to Host it at a Marie Callenders this year instead of having someone do it at their home( which means we don't have to do it again ). The wifes Brother is a Widower and couldn't do it if he wanted to. The only problem is that we will not have any left overs. One of the Grocery chains always has a free Turkey if you buy X amount of groceries, so I plan on getting one and cook it with all of the trimmings just to have left overs.

For years we always went out with a group M/C riding in the Desert at Thankgiving time, and we came up with lots of noval ways of cooking the birds, I don't like them cooked in the ground at all, but BBQ is near the top of my list. It's hart to bake one in an RV oven because the ovens are so small, but a Turkey Brast works just fine. One year we picked one up from Albertson's already cooked and just warmed it up, now that was really good.

7:10pm--dang your gone a few hours and BB is shooting up the neighborhood and moving off to West Texas.  BB I like those Quail breast done in a casseroll like Chicken & Rice. use a can of Cream of Chicken Soup as the liquid...The best...

Good night all.

Got to run for now.

  1. Sounds like a good turkey day coming up. Not sure what mine will be like after 18 years of spending it with family, but it will be alone this time. Enjoy it no matter how its done. A turkey sandwich sounds good to me though.

  2. Well I bet the Grub Shake puts on a big feed for the locals. Give them a try, maybe help by BBQ some Yard Bird for them.

  3. Figured they would be closed? I guess there's always the American Legion to. Hadn't thought of either really. I guess I need to adopt a new family.

  4. Guy, I know what your going through and it sucks.

Sometimes I found it lonely to go to a resturant by myself, but a family to adopt is good.

Im gonna try to make it out there around Tday maybe I 'll be bringing the sandwiches. lol
